Lessie Bates-Food Pantry

Helping those facing food insecurity

13th Street Food Pantry

Working with local partners to provide those in need with access to healthy and nutritious food.

Our pantry works with others in the area to provide for these critical needs.

Addressing Hunger:

Food pantries directly combat hunger by providing free food to individuals and families who may not have enough resources to purchase groceries.

Supplementing SNAP Benefits:

While SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a valuable resource, it often only covers the first two weeks of a family’s food needs, highlighting the continued need for food pantries.

Supporting Vulnerable Populations:

Food pantries serve a diverse range of individuals, including low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness.

Emergency Relief:

During natural disasters or economic downturns, food pantries play a critical role in providing immediate assistance to communities in crisis.

Community Resilience:

Food pantries strengthen communities by fostering a sense of support and providing access to healthy food, contributing to overall well-being.
